Legendary British singer Sir Rod Stewart has announced the cancellation of several U.S. tour dates as he recovers from the flu, just weeks before his scheduled appearance at the Glastonbury Festival. The 80-year-old artist expressed his deep regret over the cancellations, emphasizing his commitment to returning to the stage once fully recovered.
Stewart's recent bout of flu has compelled him to cancel four performances and reschedule two others in the United States. The affected shows include three at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and one at the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys in Stateline, Nevada. Additionally, concerts in Rancho Mirage and Paso Robles, California, have been postponed to September. These disruptions are part of his "One Last Time" tour, which he has indicated will be his final large-scale world tour.
In a heartfelt message to fans, Stewart stated, "I have to cancel and reschedule my next six concerts in June as I continue to recover from the flu. So sorry, my friends. I'm devastated and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience to my fans. I'll be back on stage and will see you soon."
Despite these setbacks, Stewart remains slated to perform in the esteemed "Legends" slot at the Glastonbury Festival on Sunday, June 29. This performance marks his return to the festival after headlining in 2002. He is expected to take the Pyramid Stage at 3:45 PM, delivering a 90-minute set that may include a reunion with his former Faces bandmate, Ronnie Wood.
Discussing his upcoming Glastonbury appearance, Stewart mentioned, "I play for over two hours every night, 90 minutes is nothing." He has requested an additional 15 minutes to his allotted time, aiming to provide fans with a comprehensive performance.
While Stewart has indicated that this tour will be his last on such a grand scale, he has expressed interest in continuing to perform in more intimate settings. He has hinted at a possible "Great American Songbook, Swing Fever" tour in 2026, focusing on smaller venues and a different musical repertoire.
Fans are encouraged to stay updated on rescheduled dates and future performances through Stewart's official channels. As he recovers, anticipation remains high for his Glastonbury performance, which promises to be a memorable highlight of the festival.
