During a candid conversation on the “Dish” podcast, actress Millie Bobby Brown revealed new intimate details about her 2024 wedding to Jake Bongiovi. Among the heartfelt moments was the news that British singer RAYE performed live at the reception including the special “daddy-daughter” dance with her father, Robert Brown.

Brown described the performance as “amazing” and “epic,” adding that having RAYE sing local classics for such a personal moment made the wedding even more meaningful. She said the decision reflected how central music and dance have always been in her family.

The wedding itself was a two-part affair: first a private ceremony in May 2024 with close family, then a lavish celebration in Italy later that year at the villa estate located in Tuscany.

For their first dance as a married couple, Brown and Bongiovi didn’t go the usual slow-song route. Instead, after months of rehearsal, they performed a six-minute choreographed routine to a medley from the musical film Grease 2. Brown admitted they originally flirted with re-creating the iconic lift from Dirty Dancing, but decided it was too risky fearing even a small misstep could derail the moment. The pair instead chose the Grease-inspired dance, dressed up as Sandy and Danny for a vintage, joyous feel.

That blend of personal history, music, dance and spontaneity set a tone of intimacy and authenticity. Brown explained her lifelong connection to dance growing up performing at family gatherings and said from the start, she wanted their wedding to feel like a celebration of love, joy and shared tradition rather than a formal display.

She looked back fondly on the moment when RAYE began singing as she took her father’s hand for the dance. Brown described it as a highlight of the night, something that captured the emotional weight of family and memory.

Beyond the music and choreography, the wedding seemed to have woven together multiple layers of meaning: surprise, showmanship, family reverence and genuine affection. An intimate ceremony followed by a more public celebration in Italy let the couple strike a balance between privacy and pageantry.

Looking back on the celebration, Brown said she still feels the joy and magic of that night. In her own words, the experience was everything she hoped it would be a heartfelt melding of love, art and heritage.
