Kylie Jenner is facing a new legal challenge after a former private chef filed a lawsuit alleging that demanding working conditions during a high risk pregnancy ultimately led to the loss of her unborn child. The lawsuit has drawn widespread attention because of the serious nature of the allegations, while also raising broader questions about workplace accommodations, employee rights, and the responsibilities of employers.

According to court documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, the unnamed chef claims she began working as Jenner's private chef in November 2024. Shortly after starting the job, she informed her supervisors that she was three months pregnant and that her pregnancy had been classified as high risk. She alleges that she requested reasonable workplace accommodations to protect both her health and her pregnancy but says those requests were not adequately addressed.

The lawsuit states that despite informing management of her condition, she continued working long shifts that often lasted between 11 and 12 hours a day, five days a week. The chef claims she was regularly assigned physically demanding responsibilities that involved lifting and transporting heavy food items while preparing meals and catering events for Jenner and her family.

One incident described in the complaint allegedly occurred on New Year's Eve 2024. The chef claims she was instructed to move heavy food containers across a street and uphill without assistance. According to the filing, the physical strain caused her to become dizzy, struggle to breathe, and require assistance from security personnel at the location. Despite the incident, she says the demanding workload continued.

The lawsuit also details another event surrounding one of Jenner's children's birthday celebrations in Palm Springs in early February 2025. The chef alleges she was responsible for managing an extensive food service operation without sufficient help despite asking supervisors for additional assistance. According to the complaint, the workload became overwhelming, leading her to break down emotionally while working at the event.

She claims that after returning home that evening she experienced severe exhaustion and intense physical discomfort. The following morning, she reportedly began suffering heavy bleeding and was rushed to a nearby hospital. There, doctors informed her that no fetal heartbeat could be detected and that she had suffered a miscarriage. The complaint alleges the pregnancy loss was directly connected to the physically demanding conditions she endured while working.

Following the miscarriage, the former chef says she experienced significant emotional distress and ongoing medical complications. Rather than receiving understanding or support, she alleges she was criticized by supervisors for expressing grief. According to the lawsuit, one supervisor reportedly told her to stop crying because her emotional state was upsetting Jenner. The filing also claims she was later falsely accused of poor job performance before eventually losing her position.

Beyond the allegations surrounding the pregnancy, the lawsuit includes multiple employment related claims. The former chef argues that she was improperly classified as an independent contractor instead of an employee, resulting in wage violations and the denial of legal workplace protections. She is also alleging pregnancy discrimination, harassment, retaliation, failure to provide reasonable accommodations, wrongful termination, and unpaid compensation. She is seeking unspecified financial damages.

Representatives for Kylie Jenner had not publicly responded to the allegations at the time the lawsuit became public. Because the matter remains before the courts, the claims outlined in the complaint have not been proven, and Jenner has not filed a formal legal response addressing the accusations.

The case also represents the third lawsuit filed against Jenner or companies managing her household staff this year. Earlier legal complaints from two former housekeepers alleged discrimination and hostile working conditions while employed in Jenner's household. Although those lawsuits primarily focused on the conduct of supervisors and other staff members rather than Jenner herself, she was named as a defendant for allegedly failing to address workplace concerns.

The latest lawsuit has generated significant discussion online, with many people emphasizing the importance of workplace protections for pregnant employees. Employment law generally requires employers to provide reasonable accommodations when medically necessary, and advocates say the case highlights the challenges workers can face when balancing demanding jobs with serious health concerns.

As legal proceedings move forward, the court will ultimately determine whether the allegations are supported by evidence. Until then, the lawsuit remains a set of claims that have yet to be tested in court. Regardless of the outcome, the case has already renewed public attention on employee rights, pregnancy protections, and the responsibilities employers have toward workers facing medical challenges.
