When Kelly Osbourne took to Instagram Stories on July 11 she confronted swirling online rumors suggesting her father, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, was near death instead she confirmed that the alarming footage was nothing more than AI-generated deception that misleads and manipulates emotionally invested fans. In a no-holds-barred tone Kelly called out the sinister content, asking incredulously “What the f‑k is wrong with you people?” and emphasized that although Ozzy, now 76, continues to battle Parkinson’s disease and has reduced mobility he is far from dying. Her message was clear: stop spreading fear and misinformation.

The viral video in question, dressed up in Ozzy’s deep voice and ominous tone, even referenced a so-called “suicide pact” between Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, a claim Kelly swiftly denounced. She reminded viewers that Sharon’s brief mention of end-of-life planning some years ago was “bulls‑t” and sensational rather than literal. That remark stemmed from Sharon’s candid 2007 memoir and a podcast episode, where she spoke about assisted dying if either of them suffered from severe mental decline not a binding pact or imminent action. Kelly labeled it “attention‑grabbing exaggeration” and urged the public to stop regurgitating it as fact.

While Ozzy has been open about his diagnosis with onset of Parkinson’s confirmed in 2020 and serious back injuries dating from a quad-bike accident in 2019, he remains active and alert. His final concert with Black Sabbath in Birmingham on July 5 drew 42,000 fans and included heartfelt tributes and guest appearances by rock icons Steven Tyler, Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, and more. Although wheelchair-bound, Ozzy performed seated with gusto and even ended with fireworks and celebration, marking the event as a triumphant farewell rather than a medical decline .

Kelly also shed light on less publicized personal developments: she became engaged to Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson during that same concert, sealing an exciting milestone for her family on a historic night. The deeply personal announcement, made amidst global attention on Ozzy’s health, highlighted Kelly’s desire to share authenticity amid sensationalist noise.

Kelly’s statement underscores larger concerns about AI’s growing ability to fabricate alarming forgeries posing emotional and ethical challenges for public figures and their audiences alike. Her vocal defense of her father underscores the emotional weight felt when AI-synthesized content spreads unchecked. She didn’t just defend Ozzy’s status; she challenged digital culture that treats false fear as viral currency: “He’s not dying… Stop” she urged directly.

For fans, the moment of realization that one of rock’s great icons is confronting chronic illness but not imminent death brings both relief and sober reflection. Ozzy’s openness about his health journey since 2018, including major surgeries and Parkinson’s, has made him a symbol of resilience. Kelly’s intervention now offers reassurance and clarity amid digital confusion.

As Ozzy settles into retirement in Buckinghamshire with Sharon, and Kelly embarks on her next life chapter with Sid, the family seems determined to navigate public scrutiny with candor. Their shared emphasis on truth, love, and celebration marks a poignant departure from manipulated narratives and reminds us that behind every headline is real life and real love.
