Offset has opened his album KIARI with a goodbye. The final track, titled “Move On,” is more than just music it’s his quiet farewell to a relationship marked by highs, lows, love, and heartbreak. In an interview with the Associated Press, the rapper shared that the song captures the essence of moving forward with grace. “It’s about moving on, like, peacefully,” he said. “It’s all love and peace.

I just ended the album with that, just to end that chapter because it’s time to move on. It’s over and done with. It was great while it lasted. That shouldn’t be the topic for either one of us no more. It’s a book that’s closed.”

Their story began worldwide headlines in 2017 when Offset and Cardi B secretly tied the knot, sealing an entertainment power couple status. But the years that followed brought turbulence: Cardi filed for divorce in 2020, the couple reconciled, only for the same drama to resurface when she filed again in July 2024. They share three children Kulture, Wave, and infant Blossom who now stand at the center of both their worlds as the personal chapter closes.

Offset’s choice to end his album with this reflective finale isn’t spiteful; it’s subdued and mature. “It was great while it lasted,” he reflected. His tone promises closure a sign that he’s seeking transition, not conflict.

Cardi’s side of the story has been no less raw. In a public expression of relief and frustration, she revealed that continuing the relationship felt damaging not just emotionally but psychologically. “I was literally losing my mind,” she shared, confessing how remaining would have brought her to a breaking point.

Offset, at 33 years old, and Cardi, 32, navigated their turbulent journey under intense public scrutiny. With songs, statements, and court filings, their narrative unfolded like the lyrics of a personal and public ballad. For Offset, turning that tale into a song signaled a move to reclaim his story and peace.

Their children remain the common thread that binds the past to their present. While the marriage may be finished, parenting together continues a nuanced path forward underscored by complexity and mutual responsibility. Offset’s lyric, that “it was great while it lasted,” may be about love’s expiration, but it reflects respect for what was shared and care for what remains.

As the world waits for KIARI to drop on August 22, “Move On” already stands as its emotional anchor. It is raw and resonant Offset’s goodbye rendered through melody. It also invites listeners to consider the power of closure and the grace in knowing when to turn the page.

Offset and Cardi's journey has been one of public splendor and private strain. But in this moment, their story doesn’t end with notes of bitterness. Instead, it fades with a whisper of healing and an artist’s resolve to let go with love, peace, and finality.
